After introductions, the program had the following components:

Computer Security Issues & Trends - Gary Warner presented on the findings from the Computer Security Institute / FBI Spring 2001 Report on computer crime. (The original report may be download from csi after completing a free registration at the : Computer Security Institute

Special Agent Mike Mauldin gave a presentation Current Trends in Local Computer Crime

A list of Security Sites was shared with the group and each one briefly discussed.

Daniel Clemens gave a presentation entitled Hacking Methodologies which presented how a hacker finds a Temptation, gains a Footbhold, which is converted to a Stronghold, and can leave your network in Bondage. Following his talk, Gary Warner assisted in a live demonstration. In this case, we used commonly available tools to attack and deface an IIS server, demonstrating along the way other potential and far more severe problems.
